The lace isn't as complicated as expected, for other beginner ace knitters I suggest the Ashton Shawl I'm doing, a free download on Ravelry. The designer Dee is amazing, she includes very detailed instructions on what to do and how to read her charts. Now you will need to know a bit beyond the basics for any lace work. Yo (yarn over), k2t (knit two together), and ssk (slip, slip, knit) are needed for this shawl but once you get into it they feel like second nature. Now I started my shawl on straight needles just to put off buying new circulars for this project but I got close to outgrowing the straight needles pretty quick. I definitely suggest using circulars if you are doing a lace shawl.
My newest baby blanket is proving to be a little bit of a pain. I'm not a huge fan of the yarn (got it from the bargain bin lol), and incorporating some cables as well as another pattern into it. Eventually I'll get the pattern down but it is taking awhile. I'm writing it down as I go so I can remember where I am.
I feel like I'm going to love the pattern once it's done, just getting there will be the problem. I love the colour as well so hopefully with some washing it'll soften up
Well I'm off for another day of job hunting and knitting if i don't get a migraine from the fire alarm tests going on in our building today. Enjoy your day everyone, I'm signing off.
